In the test kitchen we are always being sent products to give a whirl, see what we think and inspire ideas. This week Shasha Bread Company dropped off a couple of loaves of bread (the Athletes Multigrain is a new product) and a stash of their ginger snaps.

I sincerely hope all of you have tried ShaSha’s ginger snaps - they should be listed up there with back-bacon and butter tarts as a Canadian culinary gem. They are small so you don’t feel as if you’re overindulging when snacking. They are organic and have inspirational swirls on them for body mind and soul spiritual balance – kind of like new age-y sweet-tarts candy (see below).
But mostly they are delicious!
What do the symbols on the cookies represent?
Heart: See true love; feel the connection
Spiral: The wheel of life turns; this too shall pass
Spiral With Legs: Tap into the Earth’s life cycle; creativity springs forth
Circle With Line: Lightness shines through and brings luck

ShaSha: The company founder with his message: quality in life, not quantity…
Sun: The cyclical nature of birth and rebirth is revealed in the eternal light
