What features obscene amounts of chocolate and couture fashion? The third annual Cadbury Chocolate Couture Collection Fashion Show at the Carlu! Chocolate you say? Couture you say? Fashion you say? How does this all come together? Well - you take a bunch of top designers (the likes of Franco Mirabelli), the chocolatier Jen Stone, a couple of sewing machines, a whole whack of chocolate and a lot of imagination and you end up with a collection of whimsical and extravagant outfits and gowns on a runway.
As for the food, it was chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate – and not unlike the fashion creations, some of it worked and some of it didn’t. Wasn’t crazy for the cocoa laced couscous or the steak skewers with chocolate sauce, perhaps if the sauce had been more mole than Hershey’s chocolate syrup it might have worked.
The duck and risotto however was a treat. As were the giant chocolate fountains featured in the centre of the room with dark chocolate, milk chocolate and caramel flowing served with fresh and dried fruit and sugar cookie dresses for dipping.
And of course there were chocolate martinis, can’t really go wrong there.

yew! I can’t imagine chocolate with tomato or meat, but then there are all kind of palettes, did people really eat the steak and tomatoes dipped in chocolate.

yes - it was, I like the picture of it, it’s very glam. Also loved the punk rocker with the spikey chocolate mohawk.
