Five for Friday

Hi friends, One of my favourite things about working on the craft blog is that it's a place for me to collect and share the things that inspire me. Here are five things that I'm working on, thinking about, reading and enjoying this week. A quick knit wrist-warmers I had a look at the weather report for craft camp – brrr! is the word, I think. A pair of wrist warmers now seems essential, so yesterday I downloaded the pattern for Toasty from A Friend to Knit With. I'm using a ball of impulse-purchase Ultra Alpaca in blue heather, and hoping to finish them off by the time my plane lands. If I get ultra ambitious, I might whip up a simple cowl, too. A wish trip The Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Fair is this weekend in Kitchener. I've never been, but hear it's amazing – try 70+ vendors, free seminars, and a supervised craft area for kids so that you can shop unimpeded – it's on my list for next year, for sure. Quick and easy These DIY Chalkboard Buffet Labels are a cute solution to the "What's that?" problem that sometimes arises on buffet tables, and an excuse to get out the spraypaint. Fun! Travel knitting shawl I've been wanting to knit the 3/4 Hap Shawl from 100% rain for a while now, and when I saw these yarns hanging out together in my stash I realized they'd be a perfect fit for this project. I don't know how much time I'll have to knit at camp (based on my experience last year, not much!), but I'm looking forward to casting on. A cup of coffee and a new magazine The latest issue of Styled magazine is out. I know what I'll be reading come lunch time! Have a great weekend (and don't forget, there's still time to enter to win that sewing machine).
