DIY 10 MINUTE FAT QUARTER GIFT BAG

[caption id="attachment_11568" align="aligncenter" width="620"] 1 Fat Quarter + 1 Yard of Ribbon and VOILA![/caption] So, I wasn't up until 10:30pm last night sewing gift bags...because obviously I don't have about a bajillion other things I should/could be attending to two days before Christmas... Such is my dedication people!! If you too are a passport-carrying citizen of the Procrastination Nation, then raid your fat quarter stash (you know where you're hiding it from your husband...fabric HOARDER)and sew yourself up some of these gorgeous gift bags in under 10 minutes. I promise!! All you need is a fat quarter (or two. You'd be surprised what can look appropriately festive with the simple addition of pretty satin ribbon), 1 yard of ribbon, coordinating thread and some quality denial (hey, tis the season) and you are good to go. Here's how: 1. Fold your ribbon in half with the pretty side (if there is one, I'm not judging) inwards. Fold your fat quarter in half, right sides facing OUT and pin the ribbon in place about 5" down from the top opposite the fold.  Sew around the two open sides 1/4" from the edge, leaving the top open. [caption id="attachment_11569" align="aligncenter" width="448"] Pin ribbon and sew edges.[/caption] 2. Clip the corner. [caption id="attachment_11570" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Snip. Press.[/caption] 3. Turn the bag inside out and sew the same sides again, 3/8" from the edge. You may want to reverse over the ribbon tie several times to reinforce. Iron your seams. [caption id="attachment_11573" align="aligncenter" width="448"] Sew on the reverse side enclosing the first seam. Trust, it will look prettier in the end.[/caption] 4. With bag still inside out, fold the top edge down 1/4". Press. [caption id="attachment_11574" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Okay, so I'm not the Master of the Straight Line...[/caption] 5. Fold down the top another 1/2". Press, sew, and press again to finish. Turn your bag right side out - add a little glittah if you feel so inclined - and fill with goodies! It's the perfect size for a rolled sweater, a bottle of bubbly, or a My Little Pony Equestria Girl, I'm just saying... Want a larger sized bag? Simply layer 2 fat quarters with right sides facing out and follow the above instructions.
