Four great fall salads

Salads are great any time of year, but they often get overlooked when the cold weather hits. It goes without saying that we love making salads in the Test Kitchen all year round. Here are some tips for making a great winter salad:
  • Look for hearty leaves, like baby kale, cabbage or brussels sprouts, make for an ideal substitute for lettuce.
  • Don't be afraid to add in a touch of sweetness and colour with cold weather fruit, like pears, apples and pomegranate.
  • Check out the produce section for inspiration. Root vegetables, leeks, onions and green beans make a wonderful addition to any salad, so choose what looks good and go for it!
