Flu = Ew!
My partner came down with a serious bout of the flu the other night, and in order to help cure him I pumped him full of Gravol to help with the nausea, Tylenol to bring down his fever and chicken noodle soup to comfort him (they all do work like a charm). It was only yesterday when I thought to myself, Perhaps there is a better solution for dealing with such an ailment than pumping ones system full of drugs.
I know that it's recommended to add more fresh ginger to your diet when you feel your immune system is compromised (which I have been doing in large quantities as I'm living in perpetual fear that I'll be battling the flu this weekend) and to increase your intake of vitamin C.
But, what is one to do when they have the flu? What natural, find-in-your-kitchen remedies bring down a fever, help calm a nauseous stomach or put you to sleep so you can ignore the flu all together? What else can I do to boost my immune system to help ward off the flu?
Does anyone have any answers to these questions? What's your cure-all during cold and flu season?

There is no worse feeling then nausea. Recently I was stricken with a 24 hour stomach flu in the middle of the night - with only one Gravol left in the package! I took it and tried to keep it down so that it could take effect. The mighty flu fought against my last Gravol - and up it came! After throwing up (a few times) I began to panic. Then I remembered my mother once telling me about the horrible morning sickness I gave her when I was in the womb. She cured it with a teaspoon of cider vinegar in a cup of warm water! If only I had cider vinegar that night (or another package of Gravol)!

The very best way to bring down a fever and help with colds and flu is water. I drink an 8 oz glass of water in the morning, then, every time I have to go to the bathroom, I drink another 8 oz glass. I add to this regime, vitamin C, ginger and Echinacea. Usually, I can wipe out a bug in 1 to 3 days.
It really works - try it.
