Contest winners, Green Living show and more contests
With Earth Day approaching quickly I have lots going on here at the Green Living Blog. For starters, I want to announce the winners of the Origins Organics prize pack and the Mom, Will This Chicken Give Me Man Boobs? books. Congratulations to Eva who is the winner of the Origins Organics prize pack.
You all left some great responses and I'll be rushing home to whip up some of those beauty treatments. Eva said "This is the simplest soothing treatment ever: When finished making your cup of tea put the used t-bag in the fridge. When it has cooled put it on your eyes and relax for 15 minutes. When finished you will be relaxed and have very soothing eyes!!! In these recession times it is cheap and cheerful and believe me it works! It also falls in the 'green' category as we are reusing and recycling!"
Also, congrats to robertca and ash who have each won a copy of the book Mom, Will This Chicken Give Me Man Boobs?.
This weekend is the Green Living Show here in Toronto and I'm so excited to attend. It such a great event to learn all about new (and the good, old stand-by), eco-friendly products and foods that are available. One of my favourite things to do is check out the Farm Fresh Fare and the Grapes and Hops Tasting Pavilion. I've been looking forward to this for months now. I'll be sure to fill you in next week on what went on and share all the new tips and tricks I learn with you. It takes place from April 24-26 at The Direct Energy Centre at the Exhibition Place and I encourage anyone who can to attend. Here's some good news: I have two tickets to the Green Living Show to give away. If you can get yourself to Toronto, you're eligible to win these tickets. Just subscribe to my blog and leave a reply telling me how you're going to celebrate Earth Day tomorrow. I'll announce the winner here on Thursday April 23.
To those of you who don't live in Toronto, or can't make it to the show, I have two great books and one of Brita’s NEW Limited Edition Green Pitchers to give away on Thursday. One lucky winner will be randomly selected to win David Bach's Go Green, Live Rich AND Maude Barlow's Blue Covenant.
And another lucky, randomly-drawn winner will get the fancy, colourful Brita pitcher
Remember, you have to be a subscriber to my blog to win any of these prizes
, so be sure to subscribe today!
Good luck to all!

I want to throw my name in the hat for the Brita pitcher as I have been meaning to buy a new one for some time now. It would be fantastic to win it instead
(p.s. I am a subscriber!)

Congratulations to all!
Like I've mentioned before, the Brita pitcher is definately in keeping with Earth Day and all the activities.
I'd definately put it to good use. My daughter and I go through alot of water. We use tap water always, but would love to filter it as well.

Congrats to the recent winners.
I would love to go to the show, but my job sometimes gets in the way.
Speaking of jobs. How can a person persuade a hospital to go green? The waste I see is overwhelming. (I'm not talking about just bandages here).

There's needless waste everywhere. In certain offices there are recycling bins set out to collect all your unwanted paper; however, when the cleaners come it all gets placed in one big GARBAGE bag.
Let's not forget schools either. Yes, they do recycle; however, if you've walked around a school you would see ample opportunities to improve.

Just a little poem I've put together in honour of the Brita Pitcher:-)
Oh beautiful Brita Filter,
My heart is all a kilter,
In your limited edition green,
I’m oh so very very keen,
Plastic bottles are in retirement,
With a Brita Pitcher I’ll save the environment.
I wont be able to make it to the show due to work commitments but I am celebrating Earth day by planting Trees. HAPPY EARTH DAY EVERYONE!

I had a fantastic Earth Day - worked in the garden planting plants and flowers, walked and cycled everywhere, picked up litter on our street, cleaned out the basement and recycled and gave to good will all that we didnt need, brought our own bags to the grocery store. I hope everyone else had a great earth day.
