I love my summer reading

What are you reading this summer?
The one things I love about the summer is my chance and desire to get caught up on all my reading. I have piles of magazines that I'll lug up to a cottage, read them from cover to cover, and then pass them on to my friends. The same goes for novels. I'll get lost in a book and pass it on for others to love when I'm done. Relaxing with a good book is one of my greatest joys.
I'm currently reading The Believers, by Zoe Heller, and though it's a library book, I know I'll be spreading the word about the novel when I'm done. Also, the Penguin Book of Canadian Short Stories is another, rather large, book I'm working my way through. It's perfect for cottage and camping season for read-out-loud sessions. Some of my friends love being read to, and I love reading out loud. It's a perfect match.

I'm looking forward to start reading Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon. First I have to finish off some other books on the list.

Oh, It's fantastic. One of my all time favorites. It's a series and you'll be running back to the bookstore for the second one, so you might want to save time and have it on hand!

Diana Gabaldon is one of my faves. The 7th book in The Outlander series is coming this fall, so the next couple of months is perfect to catch up on the first six.
I just started reading Melissa Gilbert's autobiography...you know, the Little House on the Prairie Laura? Guilty pleasure reading...

Exhausted people needs a little bucolic surroundings. So grasp your favorite novel and waggle yourself into a peaceful state and appreciate the works of the greats on your patio swings. When you want to leave behind about the hassle of the world, there's no better place to be than your front porch swinging in your swing.
