The Bikini Boot Camp Diaries, Day 33 - Oh my gosh, I'm sooo full, and your chance to WIN!
Oh my gosh.
I'm so full.
Even though I'm (usually) sticking to the super-healthy Bikini Boot Camp Six-Week Menu, I must confess that sometimes I may be eating way too much.
I may be eating so much that after some meals, I emit a series of sighs. I have to undo my pants. And all I can think about is napping.
I know I’m not the only one. So why do we eat so much, even when we're trying our hardest to be on our best behaviour?
In his new book, The End of Overeating: Taking control of the insatiable North American appetite, Dr. David A. Kessler cracks the code of overeating by explaining how our bodies and minds are changed when we consume foods that contain sugar, fat and salt. He says that food manufactures create products by manipulating these ingredients to stimulate our appetites, setting in motion a cycle of desire and consumption that ends with a culture of overeaters.
The book seeks to explain why it's so difficult to resist certain foods and why it's so easy to overindulge.
For a chance to WIN a copy of The End of Overeating, just Subscribe To This Blog and post a reply telling us about the food you're most likely to binge on. Maybe you set out to have just a few chips and end up emptying the bag every time. Perhaps you serve yourself a slice of pizza one minute, and the next minute, you discover that half the pizza is gone. (This happens to me all the time.)
You have until Friday, June 12 to let us know. I'll announce the winner here on Saturday, June 13.

June 5th, 2009 at 6:54 pm

So, I finish my healthy lunch of chili chicken, and snack on some grapes, get back to my desk and cheezies are calling out to me! Not just a couple, but the whole bag. Before I know it, I am stuffed! Or was it the muffin, or the ginger cookie in my desk? :o(

I binge on takeout - Thai food especially.
June 6th, 2009 at 7:43 am
If there is any morsel of chocolate in my home, you bet that I will be bingeing on it! Sadly one bite is never enough to satiate my hunger for chocolate.

I am an equal opportunity binger, after all, it just wouldn't be fair to all the tasty foods out there to choose only one, *snicker* I try desperately to eat healty on a daily basis, that is until hubby goes shopping and brings home everything that isn't on the grocery list. My biggest offenders are chips, cheezies and ice cream treats. For those foods, I mostly eat them just for the taste and never mainly for hunger. I just want to get them out of the house as fast as they can, and I am usually their portal, *sigh*

Chocolate.. dark but once I get done...I don't think it's that beneficial.

The food I love to binge on is popcorn. I just love popcorn! Whether if it's savoury or sweet, bring it on! I love the crunch and the variety of flavours popcorn comes in: buttery, salty, dilly, all dressed, sweet and sticky or hot and spicy and so much more! Put me in front a big bowl or bag of popcorn, and I'll be licking all of my 10 fingers by the end. And the smell of freshly made popcorn is so tantalizing that it's really hard to ignore. I just gotta have me some!

I'm with Anita. I start healthy. good breakfast, healthy lunch.... mmm, then I want fruit or yogurt and then... I think I'll grab a few almonds ( not good when the whole 1KG bag comes with me,while I check emails or sit down to read) and yikes my throat gets dry and much to my dismay a "LOT" of the bag is gone. lately it seems the 'better' I try to eat the more junk or even good food is eaten in far too abundance.

BBQ flavoured potato chips or Bits & Bites. I can't ever leave a half empty bag. That is why I never have them in the house. I'll buy them as a treat, but do so knowing I'll have to eat the whole bag. I also don't share them very well either!!

Rice krispee squares - hmnn could eat a whole pan and want more
June 7th, 2009 at 10:32 am
M&M's. If I see a sack on sale I might buy them, put them in a candy dish, and then I can't stop myself from digging in. I can't believe it when the dish is suddenly empty. Surely I couldn't have eaten them all by myself. Fortunately I only notice them on sale a couple of times a year so the M&M splurge is not a regular occurence.

Good bread - A lovely french baguette with chunks of cheese. Warm raisin toast with melting butter. A freshly cut white loaf smothered in salmon flavoured cream cheese. I can't stop myself . . .

No question...chocolate!
June 7th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
I have asked over and over again for someone to work with some lab technician somewhere to invent a non-fat, no calorie chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie that I could just eat without remorse or guilt, a cookie which could actually be my friend and ..... to date, no luck. If someone actually does it, he/she will be an instant millionaire - is that not incentive enough? Please, please will someone step forward? If we can actually look back to 1969 when a man walked on the moon, why has science neglected our poor souls? Still waiting ....

What is it about Oreo Cookies that everyone raves about, personally I think they are atrocious,to me they have a distinct taste of sodium bicarbonate and don't hold a candle to British and European cookies.
