Diet tips and a healthy lunch idea from Chef Corbin

Weight Watchers Wrap Have you ever considered how much easier it would be to lose weight if you had your own personal chef to create healthy meals for you? Well, this might be as close as it gets. Chef Corbin Tomaszeski has partnered with Weight Watchers to create Weight Watchers approved recipes (complete with points info). As a Weight Watchers member, celebrity chef and Weight Watchers ambassador, Chef Corbin has been getting healthy in the kitchen, and has reportedly lost some pounds on the program. He created delicious and weight-conscious recipes for every meal of the day. As a chef, he has a lot of inside knowledge about food, so he shared some of his tips for healthy cooking: Breakfast Use a resealable freezer bag to prep smoothie ingredients in advance. This cuts down time in the morning and allows you to get an ice-cold smoothie. Lunch Make salads exciting with fresh squeezed lime, lemon or grapefruit juice instead of an oil-based dressing. Dinner You can mash so much more. Instead of potatoes consider mashed cauliflower, sweet potato or other great fall options like squash, turnip and beets. Substitute butter, cream or milk with veggie stock, fresh herbs and a bit of olive oil to keep the rich taste. Dessert Adding cocoa powder instead of chocolate will give you that great chocolate taste, minus the calories. Want a taste of what Chef Corbin’s serving up? Here’s his Smoked Salmon and Mango Salad Wrap, a satisfying lunch that comes in at just 8 points. Smoked Salmon and Mango Salad Wrap 1/2 cup fresh mango, peeled, seeded and diced 1/4 green onion, chopped 1 tbsp fresh cilantro, finely chopped 1 tbsp red onion, finely chopped 1 tbsp red pepper, finely chopped 1 tbsp yellow pepper, finely chopped 1 1/2 tbsp low fat cream cheese 1 whole wheat wrap 3 ounces smoked salmon Combine mango, green onion, cilantro, red onion, red pepper and yellow pepper in a bowl and mix. Spread thin layer of cream cheese on whole wheat wrap and lay smoked salmon in middle of wrap. Scoop mango mixture on top of salmon and roll up wrap.
