And the winner is . . .

5188xcfladl_sl500_aa300_On April 8, I asked you to tell us about your favourite body part for a chance to WIN a copy of the new yoga DVD, The Pursuit of Happy Hips with Eoin Finn and Elite Athletes.

Congratulations to our winner, Lena Gillespie, who says:
"I know this is going to sound funny, but at the age of 49 and having been overweight all my life, this past year I finally decided to do something about it.

So my favourite body part happens to be the newly formed biceps that are emerging as the result of my new nutrition and fitness plan that I've managed to follow for the past year. It's amazing what body fat can hide.

The first time I noticed that I actually had biceps I was blow-drying my hair and saw definition. I called the entire family to the bathroom so I could flex for them LOL!"

That's a terrific story, Lena! I hope you enjoy the DVD.

Congratulations to our winner, Cathy, who says:
"I am trying to lose weight right now. My son is getting married in June and I would like to lose 20 pounds so I could look good on the dance floor with him.

It's not only for this wedding that I am trying to lose weight but also because I am diabetic and my sugar levels have been quite high lately. My doctor wants to put me on insulin and I really don't want to get to this point. I have joined a gym and have been going faithfully. I am seeing my sugars go down and also feeling my clothes get looser. I'm starting to feel better too.

My three boys are a great inspiration - they encourage me to go to the gym and show pride in my determination. I hope I can lose this weight not only for this happy occasion but for my own personal health."

Have you ever tried to lose weight for a special occasion? And a chance to WIN!

Spring is in the air and for many brides-to-be, wedding planning is kicking into high gear.

But this can be a recipe for disaster! Have you ever tried to lose weight for a special occasion?

Maybe you had big plans to shed loads of pounds before your wedding. Maybe you went on a crash diet before a beach getaway. Perhaps you wanted to lose weight before a reunion. How did it work out? Were you triumphant? Or was it a disaster?

Tell us about how you tried to lose weight for a special event and how it turned out for a chance to WIN these six great books:

  1. Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living your Dreams, by Mike Dooley

And the fibre winner is . . .

Congratulations to Jeri-Ann, who has won our August 19 contest by telling us about how she sneaks more fibre into her diet.

Jeri-Ann says:

"I am trying to add more fibre into my diet, so all these tips are great. I love chili,  that is the only way right now I can get hubby to eat beans. we use whole wheat pasta and multigrain bread (that one was a struggle for the hubby). I have been told I need to eat between 25 and 35 grams per day due to diverticulosis, so this book would be a godsend for me."

Jeri-Ann has won a copy of The Fiber 35 Diet, by Brenda Watson.
