How to get (or give) a green massage.

origins-organics-massage_oilblog.jpg

I was recently introduced to a great line of products. Origins Organics, a line of skin, body and hair care products, are all-natural products containing organic ingredients. They make a great massage oil called Body Pampering Massage Oil. Being a fairly active person, I require the odd massage (the at-home kind), and I was pleasantly surprised that this kind isn't super oily and it doesn't leave a sticky film on your skin like so many other massage oils and creams. It also has a really nice light and refreshing fragrance.

Origins has a huge organics line – from moisturizers to lip care. All of their products are free of many of the leading environmental and health offenders, such as parabens (an estrogenic chemical found in most cosmetics), phthalates (a hormone disrupter now slowly being phased out of certain products), petroleum (derived from crude oil), mineral oil (which is a petroleum byproduct) and DEA (which is suspected to increase the risk of cancer and is commonly found in beauty products).

Some of the bottles that Origins products come in are not recyclable until they're broken down properly. However, the Origins website states that you can take the packaging back to the store where you bought the product so they can be taken apart and recycled properly. The bottles that can't be recycled are the airless ones, which the Foaming Face Wash, Nourishing Face Lotion and Hydrating Body Lotion come in. So, if you have any of those be sure to march them back to where you got them so they can be taken care of properly. All the other bottles can be recycled!

Have you found any green beauty products lately? Care to share your find with fellow readers?
