Soak up the sun!

Today, I feel like lamenting over the (almost) end of summer. The labour day weekend reminds me that the end of summer is imminent, but I'm happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I tried to make it as summery as possible.

I spent almost all of Saturday outdoors, walking around and sitting on some patios. My Sunday started off with a run in Toronto's beautiful High Park, then was off to Whitby to visit with some family, where we enjoyed swimming, cold beers, summer salads and yummy barbecue fare. I then enjoyed a beer on the patio of a local bar in the evening. On Monday I took a day trip up to Metcalfe Rock (in the Northern part of the Niagara Escarpment) for some rock climbing. The sun shone on me all weekend, and not once did I complain about how hot I was.

I intend to enjoy the sun for the rest of September (it looks like it's going to be quite a nice month). I'll continue to take advantage of what the outdoors has to offer. Then, without a doubt, I'm going to accept fall with open arms. I look forward to walks in the park, listening to the leaves crunch underneath my feet and sipping warm apple cider. And let's not forget fall's bounty – squash and apples abound (and a Thanksgiving feast)!

Then, sigh, comes winter. But hey, who doesn't anticipate frolicking in the season's first snow fall?

Wow, I think I just rediscovered my love of living in a country that has four seasons!

How do you plan to enjoy the end of these warm summer days? What do you do to get outside in the fall and winter? What do you love about the change of seasons?
