Taking advantage of fall's bounty

I made a trip to the St. Lawrence market in Toronto on Saturday morning. My culinary muscles were certainly twitching this weekend, and I felt like making a feast out of the beautiful produce that's literally at our finger tips this time of year.

I made a turkey meat loaf, with tasty mushrooms and sweet carrots; roasted brussels sprouts and red onion; mashed sweet potatoes; and I made a very yummy cranberry loaf for dessert.

I also bought crisp apples to munch on, plus a basket of tasty elephant heart plums ( which are incredibly tasty. If you have never tried them I suggest you go out to find some ASAP!).

I don't know how you feel, but I feel incredibly lucky to have such great food a mere subway ride away.

What do you love most about fall? What's your favourite fall food?

If you're feeling like I was feeling this weekend, check out our harvest menu.
