Kate Middleton's baby shower (fantasy edition)

A Kate Middleton baby shower is not likely, reports the Huffington Post this week, largely because Kate and Will can afford what they need, and also because a baby shower is not a huge tradition in Britain. Still, I like to fantasy-plan a royal baby shower...it's kind of like a fantasy sports team, but involving online window-shopping. Here are a few of my picks. From the British Bambizi nursery line, I love this Orpheus round crib (except in Britain, it's called a cot.) Kate Middleton will have staff for night parenting, I'm sure, but I walked into the corner of my sons' crib often enough at 2:30 am that the shape appeals. Okay, it's also just beautiful: Round crib for Kate Middleton Shower   The Aston Martin Silver Cross Surf stroller - just because I love the idea of a car manufacturer putting together a stroller. And because it sounds like James Bond. I will admit that I have a carrier/stroller fetish, because for me being able to get out of the house and go was a huge deal. There's also the Bugaboo Missoni collection though. Hmmm, tough one: Bugaboo Missoni stroller - Kate Middleton pick? And the Gucci baby carrier. Although I am a fan of the Ergo, and baby wearing is very individual, I figure you can't miss with Gucci. Plus how cute is that bird? Sure, the labour horror stories might fly out the window.  But I think it's good to include the father as a primary parent from the start. Pregnancy is definitely an experience that is largely the mom's for obvious reasons: Kate Middleton is carrying the royal heir, not William, and she's the one who was throwing up. But a baby shower is supposed to be for the baby, to outfit the family with necessary baby items and fête the new life, and I think just as dads are critical to the first birthday party so they should be a part of the baby shower itself. My husband and our male friends attended our baby shower, which was held in a pub, and it was a really fun time. What are your favourite picks or tips for baby showers? Fantasy or otherwise? My actual best shower tip -- even for Kate Middleton's baby shower -- is to give baby clothing that is larger sizes, since usually newborns are pretty well outfitted. Also, you can pretty much never have too many baby washcloths. We've also got: Baby shower cake inspiration! Also, don't forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook!
