Silver Linings: Peaceful Slumber

Click here for last week's Silver lining moment. This week's silver lining moment is brought to you by new mom, Ashley. Most days, my son is the happiest, calmest, most content baby and I feel like the luckiest mom in the world. But then, there are those 'other' days. The days where I spend the majority of my time trying to figure out how to calm my fussy baby boy. Is he hungry? Does he have a wet diaper? Is he too hot or too cold? Maybe he's tired... Time to get some shut eye, little man. But he is so fussy. He is crying and crying. I hold him close to me and pace the halls of our house. back and forth, back and forth. After what seems like forever, he stops fussing, his breathing becomes more laboured and his eyes start to flutter and ever so slowly they close and FINALLY... he is off to dreamland. But I don't put him down yet. I continue to walk with him and watch him sleep in my arms. He looks so peaceful, like an angel. We are both calm and relaxed now. The house is so quiet. And this moment...this moment right here is my silver lining. Do you have a great Silver Linings story? I’d love to share it. Simply add your story to the comments box below or e-mail me at letters@canadianliving.com and I’ll include it here. I hope this blog helps us all look at some of our most frustrating moments and collectively share the beautiful silver linings through all the ups and downs of parenthood.
