Award-winning (amazing) Glacier Skywalk

Glacier Skywalk: Extraordinary and Eco-friendly Imagine standing on a  glass promenade that curves 30 metres outward from the face of a cliff as you stare off into the Rocky Mountain vistas. You peer down through the glass floor beneath your feet, and there, almost 300 metres below, are are gushing waterfalls, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and the sprawling glacial forms of the untamed Sunwapta Valley. And what if you were to experience this feat of engineering knowing it didn't have a negative impact on the environment? Kudos.  The structure I'm talking about is the  Glacier Skywalk in the Columbia Icefield, about equidistant between Banff and Jasper, Alberta, and it just won an Award of Merit for Environmental Assessment and Monitoring from the Consulting Engineers of Alberta. The Glacier Skywalk was also approved by Parks Canada after extensive studies were conducted to evaluate the impact on the local wildlife and vegetation.
