International Women's Day: Cover Stories

To commemorate International Women's Day on March 8th, one women's rights organization decided to use a very familiar visual medium to get important information across to a global audience

Catpult, a small start-up organization based out of New York, has created a very compelling campaign to draw attention to the lives of women across the planet. The tagline of the campaign says it all: "This year, help make International Women's Day more than just a cover story."

Playing on some of the top-named magazines in western culture, like Good Housekeeping, Seventeen and Today's Bride, Catpult uses magazine covers as a means to tell true -- and shocking -- facts about the plight of women, highlighting topics like child trafficking, sexual exploitation and underage brides.

The campaign is drawing attention across the Internet, and it ends with the message that there isn't enough being done to help with women's rights. Click here to learn more about Catpult and their efforts. We, too, believe that it's imperative that we make women's issues more than just a cover story. It's important to not just pay attention to the stats, but to understand what you can do to make a difference.

What are your thoughts on this campaign? Do you think it's effective?
