The video everyone is talking about: Look up

Lately, every where I turn on social media, I am greeted with this video. I didn't watch it right away.   It didn't immediately lure me in. But then, friends upon friends upon friends were sharing it, tweeting it, talking about it. I clicked on it out of sheer curiosity and I was hooked from line one - "I have 422 friends yet I'm lonely. I speak to all of them everyday yet none of them know me." [HTML1] Although I do find it a little ironic that this message is being brought to our attention via social media and that I am continuing along those lines by sharing it with you here, I do wholeheartedly love it. Written, performed and directed by Gary Turk, this video serves as an important life lesson for all of us, but especially our youth. Our streets - once overflowing with the laughter and chaos of children playing - has grown increasingly quieter over the last few years. "We're surrounded by children who since they were born have watched us living like robots and think it's the norm." It's heartbreaking! Kids are growing up in a world where they walk home after school, shut the door and turn to their smartphones and computers for communication with friends instead of walking right back out there, grabbing hold of their hockey sticks, soccer balls, skateboards, skipping ropes or bikes and knocking on their door. This video is a must see.
