What would you take to a deserted island?

Thanks to everyone for replying to my post on Canadian music. The winners of Royal Wood's latest CD, Lost and Found, are: Denise Nielsen and Deann. (Please email me your mailing addresses and I will get the CDs out to you.)

Speaking of great Canuck tunes, my neighbours went to see a wonderful live show this week: The Canadian Songbook: A Tribute to Neil Young's Live at Massey Hall. A diverse group of Canadian musicians (Holly Cole, Stephen Page, the Cowboy Junkies, etc.) recreated Neil Young's 1971 concert at the same venue.

I tried to get tickets but it sold out quickly. That's why I was so pleased to learn that the tribute concert will air on CBC Radio 2 on June 29 and July 6 (two parts) at 7 p.m., and on CBC Radio One on July 3at 2 p.m. I am definately going to tune in.

I love CBC Radio. Confession time: when I went back to work from both of my mat leaves, I'm not sure who or what I missed more, my babes or listening to CBC Radio all day long.

If I had to take only a few things to a deserted island ... one of them would be a radio. Oh, and I would demand said island had the frequency to listen to CBC Radio One and Two.

What would you want with you on a deserted island?

Talk to you soon, Kd

    Congratulations Denise Nielsen and Deann.

I'm going to ponder on what I would take with me on a deserted island and post it later.

  2. Lorraine Says:

A sharp knife and a mirror. Need the knife to build shelter and kill/peel/chop food. The mirror to make sure I remember what I look like and to start fires with...we are talking about a tropical island right? If it was in the Arctic I would want one of those sleepingbags for the freezing temperatures :p

  3. Huguette Says:

A magic solar powered laptop, so I could keep up with your latest blogs and the national and international news and of course a solar powered Tim Horton's coffee machine.

  4. Anne Says:

My bible, drinking water, journal & writing instrument (pen or pencil); and a toothbrush & paste. And if I were to really plan ~ I'd bring my crocheting, yarn, patterns, hooks & stitch markers & tape measure, scissors. I bet I'd get alot accomplished that way!!!! Wouldn't it be nice if I had some food too??? LOL
Great ? but I'm sure I'd want someone with me at least part of the time ;-) like my hubby.
