Need to look awake, stat? Sure you can slather on an antioxidant-laced cream or slice up some cold cukes. But if I’m trying to atone for a night where I’ve been stripped of sleep, there’s also a good chance I’m running late, in which case I’m not too keen on chopping veggies or waiting for a heavy cream to sink in. That’s why I’ve recently become quite smitten with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes liners. For the longest time, I’ve been obsessed with their creamy white and silver shimmery shadows in tiny little pots. And while I still worship their eye-brightening properties, they do require a lil’ bit of blending and let’s get serious: I’m already running late! I was lucky enough to meet the brand’s creator, Dany Sanz, earlier this spring and she mentioned she created the line for underwater ballet dancers, and once you try, you’ll totally understand why the line has become so acclaimed. Sanz suggests drawing a line as closely to lashes as possible or smudge the liner for a softer look. Whatever you choose, keep in mind the colour will set within 60 seconds. I also love to smear a tiny bit around the inner corner of the eyes, and while it’s one of the oldest tricks in the books, it totally works. Nylon Magazine recently blogged about about how Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively “does it all the time” as an easy way to fake her beauty sleep. The eyeliners are available in Canada for $19, available at Sephora.com and select The Bay stores.
