Hmmm, kitten heels. I must say, just hearing those words makes me cringe. A little known fact about me, I live in heels. Not just any kind, I'm talking about the mega, hardcore, ridiculously high platform ones. I usually rock them on any and all occasions;  heading to the office, attending a concert and even making a trip to the grocery store. I've been known to walk my dog in them from time to time, I know, kinda tacky. In my vast shoe wardrobe, upwards of 80 pairs and counting, (I'm almost qualified to be on an episode of hoarders) I have one pair of Adidas running shoes, a pair of flat Manolo Blahnik riding boots, one pair of Joe Fresh flip flops and a pair of ballet flats I picked up at Winners. In short, the vertically challenged styles rarley see the light of day, they're overshadowed by my towering heels.

After seasons of skyscraper heels, the feminine style of a classic yet comfortable kitten heel is making a comeback in a big way. We saw them in all the major fashion cities, they were spotted at Stella McCartneyMarc JacobsGiorgio Armani and Prada. I hate to admit it, but the more I see them, the more I'm intrigued by them. I especially like pointy kitten heels, it gives off that sexy secretary vibe. I haven't purchased a pair yet, but I'm seriously considering it. Especially after reading Anamaria Wilson's feature in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar entitle "The Return of Kitten Heels". Like myself Wilson is devoted to five-inch heels on a daily basis. In the article she goes over to the shorter side and tests out a number of different designer kitten styles.

I totally understand the allure of a kitten heel. They're still chic and sexy like the taller sister, the stacked stiletto, but most importantly they're extremely practical. Which is why I wont be surprised when these stubbier styles sell like hot cakes. Check out these purrrrfect shoes, all under $100 bucks, except the Prada ones. Those will cost you dearly, perhaps a mortgage payment?
