This is my favourite time of year. Not so much because summer is upon us or that a long weekend is in my sights—but of course that helps. The real reason? Summer sale season is officially underway!
We've talked about colour blocking before on this blog and here it is again. This trend has deep roots in the 80s and early 90s—I remember my mum would wear this insane trapeze style dress in turquoise, green and fuchsia. Some would call it an eyesore, but I thought (and still think) it was kind of amazing.
Fast-forward a few decades and it's back and brighter than ever. I'm a sucker for a head-to-toe colour blocked getup but I understand it's not practical or probable for most women. The answer: add a colour blocked accessory to your look. Dabble in colour by adding a necklace, handbag or shoe—the more saturated the combinations, the better.
I adore this pair of sued strappy flats from Zara, they were priced at $59.90 but have recently gone on sale, now available for $29.99. I think I'm going to pick up a pair after work. They'll look great with my red and white colour blocked outfit I have planed for tomorrow.
Happy Canada Day!
Available at Zara.
