The American fashion retailer J.Crew has finally opened a store in Canada. Can I get an AMEN!?!
After years of being a sought-out destination by Canadians doing cross-border shopping, it's beyond exciting (especially for fashion enthusiasts) that it's finally available in Canada – yippee! The store had its grand opening at Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping Centre Wednesday evening and let's just say the inventory did not disappoint this style team.
It's no surprise that J.Crew decided to open its doors in September at one of Canada's busiest malls. Many new-to-Canada retailers take advantage of this busy selling season. But I have some bad news for stylish kids and men, Crewcuts and J.Crew Men are not launching in Canada. Not yet. Perhaps because of the smaller retail space?
Although there's only one store at the moment, J.Crew execs are in talks for another site in Toronto. Word on the street is they've started scouting locations in major Canadian cities, such as Calgary and Vancouver. However we have no confirmation yet.
Here are some of the goodies we tried on and snapped up at the event.
- Herringbone Hacking jacket in Vibrant Flame, $230.
- Petite Café capri in wool in Bright Dahlia, $138.
- Tan leopard wide calf-hair belt, $91.50.
My J.Crew Pick(s)
Whenever I buy something I wear it immediately. Case in point: this outfit. Earlier this week my Cambridge satchel arrived via eBay and I scooped up this vibrant pink cardi at Zara before the J.Crew party. I think it looks great with my latest J.Crew acquisition, this silk striped dress. The whole outfit is very Jenna Lyons–inspired. I also scored the same fuchsia pants as Nicole (so did Katherine) and these Vibrant Flame Minnie cropped pants.
- Striped blouson dress, $172.
- Hot pink mohair cardigan, Zara, $49.90.
- Orange 15" Classic Cambridge Satchel, $160.
