Whether they're tapered, high-waisted or cropped, as long as pants are saturated in colour (this fall) they can do no wrong in my book. So when I stumbled upon this shot of Demi Moore in NYC a few months back, she instantly gained some major style points. These crimson-hued cropped trousers are *so* on trend, but the rest of her look is simple, cool and casual. It looks like she's not even trying. And that's why this ensemble is so killer – she looks effortlessly chic.
I didn't fall for this look just because of the bright pants and the immaculate styling. It's because Moore pulled a Sharon Stone. Think back to the 1999 Oscars when Stone paired her pricey Vera Wang skirt with a stark white Gap button-down ($30) that she borrowed from her husband's closet. Well get this – Moore's pants are from H&M and they only cost $35! Crazy right?!
I don't know why, but I just love seeing celebs wear affordable fashion on the red carpet. The satin trousers are the focal point of the 48-year-old actress's get-up and they probably cost less than the tax on her designer shoes. I adore the white oversize tee paired with the black nylon trench – but the gold belt is what cinches the outfit together and gives it a hint of luxury.
Unfortunately, the H&M satin pants have long since sold out. However I gathered some key pieces that will create a similar look to Moore's – and they're all in stores now!
