It’s been unbearably hot in Toronto and based on this week’s weather report it doesn’t look like the mercury is going to dip anytime soon.
Like most women with a ton of hair, it’s hard to play nice with my hair when weather like this hits. Having blunt bangs (like I do) doesn’t help the situation. Ever watched this scene from Something About Mary? It’s what my bangs look like in extreme heat.
OK maybe I’m being a tad dramatic, but you get what I’m laying down. Since straightening my hair or even wearing it down is out of the question, what’s a girl to do? Well, I can always rely on putting it back in an elastic. It’s a good thing ponytails are so “on trend,” but I get bored with that one-trick pony look – fast.
Earlier this summer, Katherine and I worked with Marilisa, the artistic director for Marc Anthony Hair Care and one of my favourite hair people in the industry, on creating a bunch of how-to hair videos. She showed us three pretty and easy styles for looking fabulous this summer without (literally) breaking a sweat.
The Everyday Updo
The Ballerina Bun
The Fishtail Braid
Will you break out of the ponytail rut and try one of these creative summer updos? Which do you like best?
