If you’ve ever wanted to do good while looking fabulous, now is the time thanks to Trade Secrets. From now until September 27, participate in Trade Secrets’ 7th annual “Give & Take” event by trading in your old hair appliances for 50 per cent – or up to $150 – off a new styling tool of your choice. The worthy cause? Trade Secrets will donate your gently used straighteners and curling irons to victims of domestic violence who are trying to reclaim their lives and forge happier futures. Here’s what Trade Secrets has to say about the campaign: Since 2007, more than 20,000 gently used hair appliances have been collected during our annual “Give & Take” appliance trade-in event and donated to shelters including Richmond Hill-based Yellow Brick House, Toronto-based Rosalie Hall, Women & Children’s Shelter of Barrie and Montreal-based Refuge Pour Les Femmes de l’Ouest de l’Île. It’s time to rummage through your beauty cabinets and messy closets to find any used and functional hair tools — anything from flat irons to hairdryers to rollers to curling rods. Put them in your bag, get in the car and bring them to your local Trade Secrets. That small act of kindness can help transform a woman’s life. We couldn’t agree more.
