Canadian Living's Cook of the Year 2008 is now closed. Good luck to all who entered!

The  Prizes:
Each of the sixteen semi-finalists will receive one of sixteen semi-finalist prizes of a Canadian Living Prize Pack. Approximate value of each semi-finalist prize is $100 (CAD).

Each of the four finalists will receive one of four secondary prizes of a collection of KitchenAid small appliances. Each secondary prize includes: 1) KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus Series 5 Quart (4.73 L) 475-Watt Bowl Lift Stand Mixer; 2) KitchenAid 12-Cup (3 L) Food Processor; 3) KitchenAid 56-oz (1.75 L) 5-Speed Stand Blender; 4) KitchenAid Cook’s Series 16-Piece Cutlery Set with Black Handles and Contemporary Block; 5) return economy airfare for two (2) from the airport closest to the winner’s residence from which the designated airline flies, to Toronto, Ontario, to attend the Friday, June 13, 2008, cook-off; and 6) two (2) nights’ accommodation for two (2) (double occupancy) at the Fairmont Royal York hotel. All other expenses and proper travel documentation are the winners' responsibility. Approximate value of each second prize is $3,300 (based on Vancouver departure).

Finalists must be able to travel between June 11 and 15, 2008 to participate in the cook-off on Friday, June 13, 2008. If, for any reason a finalist is unable to travel on the dates specified by Canadian Living no compensation or alternative will be offered or provided, his/her prize will be forfeited and an alternate finalist will be selected.  Finalist and guest must depart from the same city. At least one adult (19 years or older) must be part of the group traveling. A valid credit card (or cash deposit, as set out by the hotel) will be required at hotel check-in.

The Cook of the Year winner will receive the one Grand Prize of a KitchenAid deluxe kitchen package. The Grand prize includes: 1) KitchenAid Architect Series II Side by Side Refrigerator (25 cubic-foot); 2) KitchenAid fully-integrated stainless-steel Architect II Series dishwasher; 3) KitchenAid 30-inch dual-fuel Freestanding Range; 4) KitchenAid 30-inch wall-mount Canopy Range Hood; 5) KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6 Quart (5.68 L) 575-Watt Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer; and 6) winning recipe featured in an upcoming issue of Canadian Living Magazine. Approximate value of grand prize is $9,500 (CAD).

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. Prizes do not include installation or cost of delivery. Should the winner refuse a prize, Canadian Living (Transcontinental Media G.P.), KitchenAid, and their respective advertising and promotional agencies are released from any obligation related to the prize. Selected semi-finalists and finalists will be notified by phone within one week of Friday, May 9, 2008.

The Contest Sponsors: Canadian Living (Transcontinental Media) G.P., and KitchenAid retain the right in their absolute discretion to make substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of the unavailability of any element of the prize for any reason whatsoever.
