Crochet a colourful blanket

This cheerful afghan will brighten up any room. Plus, it's a perfect project to work on with your friends.

Finished blanket measures approx 122 x 142 cm (48 x 56 inches). Motifs are crocheted individually, then joined to create blanket.

Standard abbreviations are used. Recommended for crocheters with some experience.

You need:
Patons Canadiana (100 g/3.5 oz; 187 m/205 yds) as follows:
• 4 balls Winter White (MC)
• 2 balls each Tweet Yellow (A) and Raspberry (C)
• 1 ball each Deep Orchid (B), Tangy (D), Lime Juice (E), Dark Teal (F) and Clearwater Blue (G)
5 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension given below

Tension:

13 sc and 14 rows = 10 cm (4 inches).
Motif: Approx 20 cm (8 inches) square.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK TENSION.

Motif 1: Make 7 with C as Colour 1, B as Colour 2.
Motif 2: Make 7 with D as Colour 1, C as Colour 2.
Motif 3: Make 7 with C as Colour 1, D as Colour 2.
Motif 4: Make 7 with E as Colour 1, A as Colour 2.
Motif 5: Make 7 with F as Colour 1, E as Colour 2.
Motif 6: Make 7 with G as Colour 1, F as Colour 2.

Note: Ch 3 at beg of rnd counts as dc throughout.
With A, ch 6. Join with sl st to form ring.
