Crocheted V-neck pullover

A sporty, easy-to-wear V-neck sweater that's sure to become a favourite in your closet.

Size 51
In first row only inc at centre back neck as follows:
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first sc, [sk next sc, SH in next sc, sk next sc, sc in next sc] 3 times, sk next sc, INC-SH in next sc, sk next sc, sc in next sc, repeat between [ ] 3 times, placing sc in last sc, turn – 7 shells.
Row 2 (inc): Ch 4, (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in first sc for corner, sc in next ch-sp of sh, INC-SH in next sc for corner, [sc in next ch-sp of sh, SH in next sc] twice, over inc-sh at centre back work (sc in first ch-sp, SH in next ch-sp, sc in next ch-sp), [SH in next sc, sc in next ch-sp of sh] twice, INC-SH in next sc for corner, sc in next ch-sp of sh, INC-SH in last sc, turn – 9 shells.
Row 3 (inc): Ch 3, 2 dc in first dc, *over inc-sh work (sc in first ch-sp, INC-SH in corner ch-sp, sc in next ch-sp), SH in next sc*; repeat from * to *, [sc in next ch-sp of sh, SH in next sc] to next inc-sh; repeat from * to * twice, except omit last SH, place last sc in tch sp, end with 3 dc in third ch of tch, turn.
Row 4 (inc): Work same as Size 36 Row 5.
Row 5 (inc): Work same as Size 39 Row 6.
Rows 6-7: Work same as Size 42 Rows 5-6.
Rows 8-17: Work same as Size 36 Rows 6-8 3 times, Row 6 once more – 50 pattern repeats.

Size 54
Rows 1-7: Work same as Size 51 Rows 1-7.
Row 8: Work same as Size 39 Row 6.
Rows 9-17: Work same as Size 39 Rows 7-9 3 times – 49 pattern repeats.

Joining
Sizes join at underarms and front neck at different steps. Size 33 joins underarm, then neck. Sizes 36 (42, 45, 51) join underarm and neck in same row. Sizes 39 (48, 54) join neck, then underarm.

Size 33
Join underarm: Ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in first sc, *work in pattern to next corner sh, sc in ch-sp of corner sh, ch 1, BASE CH/SC 7 for underarm, sc in ch-sp of next corner sh*; repeat from * to *, work in pattern, placing SH in last sc, turn.

Sizes 36 (42, 45, 51)
Join underarm and front neck: Ch 3, dc in first dc, *work in pattern to next corner sh, sc in ch-sp of corner sh, ch 1, BASE CH/SC 7 (7, 11, 11) for underarm, sc in ch-sp of next corner sh*; repeat from * to *, work in pattern to end, ending with 2 dc in top of tch, ch 1, sl st in top of beg ch, fasten off.

Sizes 39 (48, 54)
Join front neck: Ch 3, dc in first dc, *work in pattern to next inc-sh, over inc-sh work (sc in first ch-sp, SH in corner ch-sp, sc in next ch-sp)*, repeat from * to * 3 times, work in pattern to end, ending with 2 dc in top of tch, ch 1, sl st in top of beg ch, turn.

Size 33
Join front neck and fill in pattern at underarms as follows.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in first dc, *work in pattern to underarm, placing SH in sc before underarm, sk next 3 sc, sc in next sc, sk remaining 3 sc of underarm, SH in next sc*; repeat from * to *, work in pattern to end, ending with 2 dc in last sc, ch 1, sl st in top of beg ch, fasten off.

All other sizes
Sk backward to centre of underarm. Now working again toward front, begin working in joined rounds, filling in pattern at underarms.

Sizes 36 (39, 42)
Rnd 1: Join with sl st in 4th sc at centre of underarm, ch 1, sc in same sc, *sk remaining 3 sc of underarm, SH in next sc, work in pattern across, placing SH in sc before next underarm, sk next 3 sc, sc in next sc*; repeat from * to *, except omit last sc, instead end with sl st in beg sc, turn.

Sizes 45 (48, 51, 54)
Rnd 1:
Join with sl st in 6th sc at centre of underarm, ch 3, dc in same sc, *sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc, sk remaining 2 sc, SH in next sc, work in pattern across, placing SH in sc before next underarm, sk next 2 sc, sc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, SH in next sc*; repeat from * to * except omit last SH, instead work 2 dc in same sc as beg, sc in top of beg ch, turn.
Work one round even on 22 (24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36) pattern repeats, now working toward back.
