"We had already been thinking about tackling the inside of our house when we won the kitchen makeover," says Carol Sulis. "The contest prize couldn't have come at a better time for our family of four. We wanted to improve the flow of our home, which would mean moving the stairs, shifting the kitchen slightly and relocating the rear door. We also wanted to improve the energy efficiency of our home. It was important for our growing family to maximize kitchen storage while creating a classic look that would endure the test of time – and the wear and tear of our two energetic boys, five-year-old Andrew and three-year-old Matthew, who love to help with cooking and baking. That is so much easier now that we have the peninsula."
