Bat-a-bat piñata

Kids will love taking a swing at this papier-mâchè creature.

Materials:
• Acrylic paints: black, red, white
• Cardboard
• Craft knife
• Fish line
• Hot-glue gun & glue sticks
• Long stick
• Masking tape
• Paintbrushes
Papier-mâchè body
• Red ribbon
• Red tulle squares, 8" x 8"
• Small toys
• Table tennis ball
• VVrapped candy

Instructions:
1. Cut two wings from cardboard. Cut 1" slits into edge of wings that will go next to body. Turn body upside-down a tape wings in place. Poke holes in tip of wings to string fish line for hanging. (See the step.)

2. Paint entire bat black. Cut table tennis ball in half and hot-glue to body for eyes. Paint red dots on eyes and a blot in center for dilated pupil. Paint white pointy teeth. Add drops of blood down chin with red. (See the step.)

3. Place small toys and wrapped candy in red tulle squares, then secure bundles with ribbon. Place bundles in body and seal with tape to create piñata. Hang piñata low enough for child to hit with stick. Let blind-folded children take turns hitting the piñata to break it open. (See the step.)
