Beaded Wing Dragonfly Fashion Pin

Make a pretty beaded lapel pin in the shape of a dragonfly with this simple project.

You Will Need:

Supplies:


  • Gold wire, 24 gauge
  • Gold wire, 32 gauge
  • Two gold seed beads
  • Green iris seed beads
  • Clear seed beads
  • Green glass bead, 8mm
  • Two silver spacer beads
  • Gold bead, 5mm
  • Green glass bead, 5mm
  • Two gold beads, 3mm
  • Turquoise diamond shaped glass bead, 1/4" long
  • Green diamond glass bead, 5/8" long
  • Silver oval bead, 1/2" long
  • Pin back

Tools:

  • Needlenose pliers
  • Round nose pliers

Follow These Steps

 

Body/Tail:
1. Beginning with a gold seed bead at head, thread beads onto 24 gauge wire according to the beading diagram (Fig. 1).
2. Twist ending wires together at tail. Coil twisted ending wires, using round nose pliers.

Beaded Wings:
With 32 gauge wire, weave four seed bead wings, following the beading patterns in Fig. 2 (upper wings) and Fig. 3 (lower wings).

Assemble Pin:
1. Wire each wing onto dragonfly body.
2. Wire pin back to back of dragonfly.
