What you'll need:
• Old dark and light denim jeans; scissors; ruler
• Six 4-inch cork squares
• Hot-glue gun; glue sticks
• Brad paper fastener
• 8 x 12-inch piece of stiff felt sheet
• 1/2-inch-wide yellow ribbon; baby rickrack
• Wire cutters; silk flowers
• Plastic thumbtacks
• Strong glue, such as Aleene's Platinum Bond
Here's how:
1. From each color of denim, cut three 5-inch squares.
2. Place each cork square in the center of a denim square. With adult help, place hot-glue along one edge of the cork and wrap the denim edges around the cork. Repeat on the opposite edge of the cork and again on the two remaining sides as shown in Photo A, stretching the fabric tightly each time.
3. Carefully poke the brad fastener through the center of the felt sheet 1-1/2 inches down from the top edge. To make a hanger for the bulletin board, tie a loop of ribbon around the brad ends. Separate the metal ends flat against the felt. Glue the wrong side of each cork square to the felt as shown in Photo B.
4. Hot-glue rickrack if around board edges.
5. To make floral tacks, use wire cutters to trim flower heads off stems. Use strong glue to attach a flower to each thumbtack head. Let dry.
