You need:

  • Pin back (available at craft supply stores)
  • Pipe cleaner, for hair
  • Scraps of coloured yarn, for cat's tail

    To make:

    1. Draw 1 shape (rectangle, circle, oval or triangle) for face pin, or 2 shapes for cat (1 head and 1 body), or several shapes for bird (1 head, 1 body, 1 beak and 1 feather) on paper. Cut out, then trace each 4 times onto bristol board. Cut 1 shape for each bird feather. Stack and glue same face, head, body and beak shapes together, sandwiching pipe cleaner or yarn ends between layers for hair on face or tail on cat or feathers on bird. If appropriate, glue head to body, beak to face, etc. Let dry.

    2. Colour, then draw in fine details with markers. Centre, then glue pin back to wrong side.
