Kids and moms — here's a great way to show off favourite shots from summer vacation or Baby's first year. A few fast folds and you've got the perfect small-scale photo "album." Opened out, it sits atop a desk or mantelpiece. Closed up, it becomes a compact little brag book for Grandma to tuck into her purse or for you to take to school or work.

You need:
• 2 to 6 photos (3-1/2- x 5-in size)
• Large sheet of stiff paper (such as painted watercolour paper), bristol board or corrugated cardboard
• Markers (optional)
• 2 Velcro hook-and-loop circles (both sides), 1/2-inch in diameter
• Pencil, ruler, glue stick and paring knife

To make:
1. Determine length of paper: Multiply number of photos by panel width of 11.5 cm (4-1/2 in), then add 7.5 cm (3 in) for flap (if desired). Cut strip of paper this length and 18 cm (7 in) high.

2. Working along strip length, measure and mark vertical lines at 11.5 cm intervals. Score lines with dull top edge of knife blade (for corrugated cardboard only, score with sharp edge). Fold, accordion style, along lines. Open out flat.

3. Glue 1 photo onto each panel. If desired, write name or label on each panel. If desired, write name or label on panel one.

4. On photo side of strip, glue Velcro hook dots evenly spaced along inside flap edge approx 2 cm (3/4 in) in. Fold strip; glue remaining dots in place on strip back.
