Tubing bracelet

Your kids will find these colourful braclets as fun to wear as they are to make.

By Jean Scobie

You need:
• Clear plastic tubing in two sizes, available in automotive or plumbing section of hardware store
- 10 mm (3/8-in) outside diameter with 6 mm (1/4-in) inside diameter
- 6 mm (1/4-in) outside diameter with 3 mm (1/8-in) inside diameter
• Seed beeds, glitter, thin coloured wire
• Coordinating embroidery floss
• White craft glue

To make:
1. With scissors, cut a 23 cm (9-in) or desired length of 10 mm tubing for bracelet. Cut a 3 cm (1-1/8-in) length of 6 mm tubing for connector.

2. Push connector into one end of bracelet. Pour or drop beads through a small paper funnel into opposite end, tapping lightly so they fill the tubing. Keep the bracelet bent as you do this, so the contents do not fall out the other end. Fill the tubing completely or, if you wish the contents to move around, fill it only half full. Bend tubing into a circle and insert connector into open end.

3. Wrap floss tightly around tube for approx 2.5 cm (1 in), covering the point where the ends of the tube connect. Anchor ends of floss with a dab of glue.
