The craft this month is an ice cream cone that never melts! Click here to see finished craft.
You need:
Lime green foam for the cone
Yellow foam for a scoop of banana ice cream
Blue foam for a scoop of blueberry ice cream
Pink foam for a scoop of strawberry ice cream
Orange foam for a scoop of orange ice cream
1 magnet so you can hang your creation on the fridge
Glue
Scissors
Your imagination
To make:
1. Cut foam into 4 semicircles with a scalloped edge in different colours for the ice cream scoops.
2. Cut the green foam in a triangle shape to make the cone.
3. Glue one of the ice cream scoops to the cone and then paste the other scoops on top as seen in picture.
4.Once the glue is dry, flip over your ice cream cone and secure the magnet in place on the back.
5. Now hang it on your freezer door so there will always be ice cream in the freezer! Use your imagination and have fun!
Delicious ice-cream treats to make at home:
Kick-the-Can Vanilla Ice Cream
For the tastiest game around, get the kids to churn a can of ice cream inside another ice-filled can by gently kicking and rolling it around. Vanilla beans give the ice cream a real depth of flavour, and the minuscule seeds are attractive.
Strawberry Ice Cream
Rosy pink and infused with the flavour that only our own freshly picked berries can provide, this easy-to-make treat is much better than the store-bought variety.
Ice-Cream Cake Loaf
This frozen dessert is quick to make using ready-made ingredients and great to have on hand for surprise guests.
Chocolate Chip Ice-Cream Sandwiches
Fudge ice cream and mini chocolate chips pack a chocoholic punch, while vanilla ice cream and mini coloured candies appeal to the young at heart.
Ice-Cream Crunch
"This recipe has been a family favourite for years," says Wanda. Some tastes -- such as crispy cereal, coconut and ice cream -- we never outgrow.
Chocolate Chip Ice-Cream Sandies
Sisters Yardley, 9, Calley, 7, and Bailey, 6, submitted this recipe complete with drawings of the ingredients and final product (labelled "Mmmm"). Their mother, Holly, a construction and electrical contractor who studies martial arts and directs dinner theatre, makes sandies for after-school treats or dessert.
Light and Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream
This rich, smooth ice cream comes from The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook (Oxford University Press, 1985) by Lucy Maud Montgomery's granddaughter, Kate Macdonald.
Black Cherry Ice Cream
You don't need an ice-cream machine to make this rich and creamy soother.
Fruity Frozen Ice Cream
Scoop this icy summer treat into chilled glasses and add more fresh fruit.
Strawberry Rhubarb Sorbet
Vibrating with summer-fresh flavour and colour, this beautiful sorbet seems so rich that you could be fooled into thinking that it's ice cream.
