Knit and felt a Christmas stocking

This homemade knitted and felted Christmas stocking will add a cosy touch to your holiday decor.

Row 88 (start heel shaping): BO 1, P to end of row.
Row 89: K even.
Repeat these 2 rows 2 more times.

Row 94: BO 1, P to end of row.
Row 95: K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

Row 96: BO 2, P to end of row.
Row 97: BO 1, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.
Repeat these 2 rows once more.

Row 100: BO 3, P to end of row.
Row 101: BO 1, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.
Repeat these 2 rows once more.

Row 104: BO 3, p to last 3 sts, P2tog, P1.
Row 105: BO 2, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.
Repeat these 2 rows once more.

Row 108: BO 3, p to last 3 sts, P2tog, P1.
Bind off all sts.

Make second side the same, but substitute knits for purls and purls for knits to reverse shaping.

Leaves (make 7 or desired quantity)
Start with a slip knot.
Row 1: Kf&b (2 sts).
Rows 2, 4 and 6: Purl.
Row 3: Kf&b twice (4 sts).
Row 5: K1, Kf&b twice, K1 (6 sts).
Row 7: Using cable cast-on, CO 4, BO 2, knit across (8 sts).
Row 8: CO 4, BO 2, purl across (10 sts).
Row 9: K1, SSK, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 (8 sts).
Row 10: P1, P2tog, P to last 3 sts, P2tog tbl, P1 (6 sts).
Rep rows 7-10 twice more.
Row 19: K1, SSK, K2tog, K1 (4 sts).
Rows 20 and 22: Purl.
Row 21: SSK, K2tog (2 sts).
Row 23: K2tog.
Bind off.

Hanger
With crochet hook and colour of choice, crochet a chain starting at the top back edge of one of the pieces. Remember to make your chain twice as long as you want your hanger to be. Fold the chain in half and secure it to the fabric.

Finishing
Felt the stocking pieces and the leaves.

Using sewing thread and a needle, sew the leaves in clusters onto one side of the stocking (see photo).

Whipstitch the 2 pieces together with contrast colour yarn, leaving the top open.
