Bauble Centerpiece

By Jo Rigg

Add sparkle to your holiday table with this shimmery centrepiece.

Excerpted from Tabletops: Over 30 Projects for Inspirational Table Decorations by Jo Rigg (Breslich & Foss, 2003).

A glass bowl filled with sparkling Christmas lights makes an entrancing centerpiece for this elegant table. The gold and silver baubles used here echo the frosty hues of the table, but the idea can be adapted to fit a traditional red-and-green setting.

MATERIALS
• Selection of silver and gold baubles and ornaments
• Footed glass bowl
• Set of white, shadeless Christmas lights

1. Arrange a layer of baubles in the bottom of the bowl.

2. Begin threading the lights between the baubles, carefully weaving the cord around the ornaments.

3. Finish the arrangement with a layer of baubles, hiding as much of the electrical cord as you can.
