By Marg Meikle

A great sign or banner can make or break an event. Here's how to create one.
There are many ways to make great signs with your printer.

Banners away...
Here are a few simple ideas to produce banners in a smart and fast manner.

1. Produce a banner like the pros. Print off BANNER.pdf to see an example of what a banner can look like.

2. To make your own, open your word processing program. Under File, choose Page Setup, and set your page layout to landscape. Make sure your right margin is at least one inch (for overlapping the pages and gluing together). Choose a font and a large type size such as 300. Type a few letters per page. You can insert clip art or a scanned .jpg image file at either end of the banner.

Use 8-1/2 x 11 printer paper or HP's handy banner paper. Print it in colour or black and white and have kids colour it in. Overlap the paper and tape or glue it together. Ta da!
