Make a cultural holiday centrepiece

Culture and traditions are what make the holidays even more special. Here, Andrika Lawren and Emmanuel Belliveau, hosts of HGTV show My Parents' House, offer a great way to incorporate family history into unique centrepieces for your home.

Materials:
• Sentimental keepsakes
• Candles
• Seasonal greens (available at greenhouses during holiday months)
• Ribbon

Create seasonal vignettes for your home with keepsakes and sentimental pieces. Use candles, a tidy small bunch of seasonal greens and ribbon tied and placed together as a decorative tabletop setting. It is a great way to personalize and showcase your culture during the holidays. In our example, we used a pair of Dutch slippers as part of a Dutch family centrepiece.
