Easy Easter craft

Bonnets and bunnies and, most of all, brightly coloured eggs represent the festive side of Easter. And the best thing about these eggs: they're quick and easy to make. Kids will love to watch the paint swirl over the surface, creating pretty, marbleized patterns. Since the paint is sold in very small quantities, you'll want to include a rainbow of bright colours.

Marbelized Easter eggs*

You need:
• White eggs
• Small amounts of oil-based paint in a variety of colours (little bottles of enamel model paint are ideal)
• Plastic containers (such as 500 g yogurt containers)
• Toothpicks
• Tongs
• Cake rack
• Newspaper
• Varsol and rags

To make:
1. Cover work area with newspaper. Hard-cook the eggs.

2. Fill plastic container two-thirds full of water. Using a toothpick, gently drop several tiny drops of paint (one colour or different colours) onto surface of water. It is very important to add only a tiny amount of paint. Swirl the paint around gently on the surface of the water.

3. Grasp egg with tongs and dip it in and out of the water. The swirled paint will cling to the surface of the egg to produce a marbled effect. Set egg to dry on cake rack ovenight. Repeat for each egg.

4. Clean tongs and cake rack with Varsol-moistened rags and wash in soapy water.
