You need:
20- to 24-in diameter wire artificial evergreen wreath
Artificial fruit
Rose hips
Dried hydrangea, statice, grasses, seed pods and southern magnolia leaves
Hot glue
Florist's wire
To make:
Onto 20- to 24-in diameter wire artificial evergreen wreath, such as a Barcana wreath. fasten artificial fruit, rose hips, dried hydrangea, statice, grasses, seed pods and southern magnolia leaves using hot glue or florist's wire. Place finished wreath with dried or dyed materials under porch roof or in other protected spot. Variation: To simplify, use only citrus fruits.
To dry citrus fruit
Using paring knife, cut straight vertical slits in lemon, lime or orange, approx 1.5 cm (5/8-in) deep, at evenly spaced intervals of 2.5 to 5 cm (1 to 2 in) around fruit (leave uncut circles of peel at top and bottom). Place in basket or mesh container that allows air to circulate; let dry for 1 to 2 months, turning occasionally. As fruit dries, slits will open up.
