Missing the lids from your fine cut-crystal salt and pepper shakers? Turn them into shimmery ornaments for your tree in just minutes. Add a spoonful of water and a sprig of fresh greenery for a unique and inexpensive way to continue to enjoy these pretty little treasures.

You need:
• Crystal salt and pepper shakers (with or without lids), approx 5 cm (2 inches) high
• ¼- and ½-inch-wide wired ribbon
• Glass beads or crystals
• 24-gauge silver wire
• Scissors and wire snips

See a larger photo of the completed craft here.

To make:
1. Twist length of wire or ¼-inch-wide ribbon around neck of shaker to form hanging loop.

2. Tie length of ½-inch-wide ribbon in bow around neck of shaker.

3. String 2 or 3 beads on length of wire and twist around neck of shaker, centring beads on knot of bow.
