Dry indoor air and frigid outdoor temperatures can sap moisture from your little one's skin. Here are ways you can keep her skin supple in the winter.
• Cover up that sweet baby face with a scarf to protect it from winter winds.
• Monitor the bath water; the warmer it is, the more moisture your baby will lose, so make sure that the temperature is lukewarm.
• Use a mild soap.
• Limit baths to 10 minutes.
• Apply a moisturizer right after bathtime.
• Protect your baby from the sun – even in –30 C weather. The Canadian Paediatric Society says sunblock should not be used on children who are younger than six months of age. Instead, keep baby in the shade or her face covered.
