Dr. Cathryn Tobin, Canadian Living's parenting expert, is a pediatrician, a trained midwife, author of The Parent's Problem Solver, and a member of the Canadian Pediatrics Society and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. She received her pediatric training at The Hospital For Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. Prior to her medical training, Tobin trained as a midwife in El Paso, Texas where she attended more than 400 deliveries.

Tobin has been speaking on parenting issues for more than twenty years, and has worked as a general and consulting pediatrician in Ontario, Canada, for more than a decade. Dr Tobin is the mother of four great kids.

Dr. Tobin's mission is to help grownups translate their love for kids into a language that speak to a child's body, mind, heart and soul. "I hope not only to show moms and dads the best way to deal with issues that cause them grief," says Tobin, "but also to help them feel more confident and capable in their parenting abilities."
