School's out, summer's here and you want to keep your kids reading between now and the first day back to class in September. Choosing books your child will actually read can be hit and miss, so we've made things easier by finding some great books to suit a variety of personality types. Here are our top picks for kids books -- and don't be surprised if you read them up, too.

For the child who likes to be silly

Through their efforts to keep the egg warm until it hatches, they learn to get along and even become friends. And when a bluebird points out that their egg isn't an egg at all, but a ball, the two friends show that they can play together, too. This charming tale will quickly become a classic in any child's library.
