Anne Martin, Sommelier and Canadian Living's new wine writer, came by today and held a wine tasting in the offices in preparation for an upcoming story. The focus today was on Shiraz (or Syrah depending on where you are in the world). Anne believes that a wine tasting should be fun, accessible and any thing but intimidating. The guests in our workshop who knew less about wine had all of their questions answered and the ones who knew a little more got to sample some excellent pre-chosen wines to quaff with lunch. Anne is great at striking a balance between simple and accessible but still instructional and informative. You can see how she does it for yourself.
