There is a sweet surprise lurking in these witches' hats. Once you crack them open, it's just one magical treat after another.

- 1 1/4 cup black and/or green chocolate coating wafer (such as Merckens)
- 12 sugar cones
- 2 cups assorted Halloween candies
- 12 chocolate wafer cookies
- Licorice rope and candy for decorating
MethodIn microwaveable bowl, melt coating chocolate on high, stirring after 30 seconds, until smooth, about 1 minute.
Fill sugar cones with Halloween candies. Using food-safe paintbrush or offset spatula, coat rim of each cone with chocolate; press cookie onto rim to make hat brim. Let stand on brim until set, about 3 minutes.
Brush some of the remaining chocolate over cones to coat. Decorate with licorice and candies as desired, using remainingchocolate as glue. Let stand until set, about 10 minutes.
Make-ahead: Store in airtight container for up to 4 days.
